MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel" --which means, "God with us." Matthew 1:22-23
This is our seventh Christmas together as a family in St. Petersburg (although our first Christmas in 1999 started in Canada). Throughout these years we have been very mindful of God's presence. From our arrival in St. Petersburg with next to nothing, to our cockroach-infested rental apartment, to our very own apartment with three beautiful daughters, God has been with us every step of the way.
We thank you all for standing with us in prayer during this time. God continues to meet our every need thanks to the prayers of His people.
May you all experience the One and Only "God-with-us" this Christmas and every day.

COMING TO CANADA — Lord willing, we will celebrate next Christmas with our family in Canada. If you happen to be replacing still-useful household items with new gifts this Christmas, please keep us in mind! We will be arriving in Canada with very few household supplies (and no appliances!). Christmas in June would be great! ;-) Thank you for remembering our needs in your prayers!
BLESSINGS — Answered prayer from last week! Lena is well again, and I am too! It's wonderful to have the whole family healthy again (just in time for Christmas). Thank you for your prayers.
PETITIONS — Our local church fellowship has been given until Christmas Day to vacate building we have been renting. After our Christmas Day service we will have to vacate the premises, offices, storage and all. The reasons are mostly political and the timing is very unfortunate. Thankfully we have managed to get another facility to rent, but it will not be available until early in the New Year. Please pray for our church as we undergo this challenging transition.
