Hamm Prayer Points — 06|10|03

GREETINGS Happy Thanksgiving...Again! (It seems that I mixed up the dates—but it’s never too early to give thanks, right?) We are so thankful for all of God’s people who faithfully pray for us. We thank God for the privilege that we have as believers to bring petitions & praise to His throne. Blessings, Kevin, Lena, Sonia, Maya & "Baby" Hamm
PETITIONS — Sonia is having trouble staying healthy. She seems quite susceptible to colds and sore throats and subsequently has missed a fair bit of school as of late. Please pray for her health–she is returning to school this week after missing almost 3 weeks of school. — October 13-17 the CCI/Russia Board of Trustees will be meeting in Germany. Please pray for CCI/Russia president Alexander Kharitonov and the trustees as they seek God’s will and plan the future of the Russian camping ministry. — Now that Maya is a big 3-year-old and has her own room, she has started sleeping on her own. Unfortunately, Maya often wakes up at night and subsequently us also! Please pray that she will make the transition to restful sleeps before the baby arrives and keeps everybody up all night! ;-)
BLESSINGS — Answered prayer from last week! The ladies group in Kevin’s home church in Newton took up a collection and provided enough funds for the baby crib! Thanks so much!!! — Answered prayer from last week! The search for the maternity hospital is all but over. Several friends gave their recommendations and after much travel on public transport, Lena is ready to make the final arrangements this week. Thank you for praying! — Lena had a good (final) ultrasound this past week, and the doctor is pleased with the baby’s condition and satisfied with Lena’s condition (the growth on her ovary is not considered serious). Praise God for good health for both Lena and our soon-to-be-born baby girl! (By the way, the ever-changing due date is now set at October 31.)
DID YOU KNOW... — That the vast majority of city-dwellers in Russia live in apartments? Consequently, the term “backyard” has no meaning to people here! — That Russians are avid readers? Travel anywhere by metro or bus and you will see people pulling books out of their purses and briefcases, trying to pass time. Crossword puzzles are also a popular pastime. — That bootleg videos, music & software are widely available throughout Russia? Major motion pictures are available here on DVD practically the same week they appear in theatres in North America!
